Mas de Martin, Languedoc, France, stock photography samples, by Per Karlsson, BKWine — This is only a selection of samples. Use Image SEARCH to find more photos — Mas de Martin is a winery in Languedoc in southern France owned by Christian Mocci. It is just on the edge (outside) of the area Pic Saint Loup not too far from Montpellier. You can actually see the Pic itself from the Mas de Martin vineyard and the wines have many things in common.
The vineyards are in a generally hot and dry climate. The soil is stony and partially calcareous. In total they have around 19 hectares. They produce a range of wine. The top cuvee is called Ultreia and is made from syrah, grenache and mourvèdre grapes grown on clay and limestone soil. It is aged in wood for 15 months. Cuvee Cinarca is made only from syrah and grenache with some aging in barrels. Cuvee Roi Patriote is a more mixed blend with “international” grapes made with merlot, cabernet sauvignon grenache, syrah, cabernet franc, and tannat and cold fermented. They also have Cuvee Venus, Plein Sud (100% syrah), Casanova (pinot noir), and two rosé wines.
